Write Less, Do More.
I've been experimenting alot with JQuery. I've been having a hidden addiction towards trying new things using this Javascript library since it gives amazing flash-like effects to elements of a page using less code and simultaneously giving you better browser support. In the past, you would have had to use Flash, or Javascript to complete such effects but JQuery says it all in their slogan, "Write Less, Do More."
JQuery has become such a popular web tool for designers and programmers in the real world as it was written for the sole purpose of making our lives easier when it comes to web development. The browser support, as mentioned, is rediculous. It remedies the problem in multi-platform issues and cross-browser incompatibilities. Escpecially Internet Explorer 6.
Try it yourself if you get a chance why don't ya. If you want to learn how to use this great tool pick up a book. I'd recommend Sitepoint's Jquery: Novice to Ninja BY EARLE CASTLEDINE & CRAIG SHARKIE as it provides real on-hand examples while teaching you the skillset you will need to do more.
Another great book is JQuery in Action, by Bear Bibeault and Yehuda Katz. This book shows a great use of the library and absolutely love using this for a reference on the go. Ofcourse, the ultimate reference is a click away, JQuery.com blog comments powered by Disqus |
